A new Learning Disability Strategy for North Yorkshire

A new Learning Disability Strategy for North Yorkshire

We are working with North Yorkshire County Council and local clinical commissioning groups on a draft of the Learning Disability Strategy for the local area. A strategy is another word for a plan.

The draft is based on what people with learning disabilities, their families and their carers have told us and we are now asking for more comments at this stage. This is known as consultation. The consultation started on 8 December 2015 and will end on the 28 February 2016.

The strategy and an easy read version of the strategy can be found by clicking here

Listening to your views

By completing a short survey, we would like you to tell us if the strategy includes the right priorities and what your ideas are for making things better. Your name will not be connected to your answers in the survey.  This is also known as providing anonymous answers.

Click here for a link to the survey, which is available in easy read format and also online.

You can send your completed easy read survey in the post to Warren Tweed, Commissioning Manager, Jesmond House, 31-33 Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 5QE or you can email it to HAS.Communications@northyorks.gov.uk

We will be arranging to meet with the Learning Disability Partnership Board, the Carers Forum and other local groups to get views on this strategy too.

After you have completed the survey

We will be providing a summary of the feedback we receive. We will also tell you how it has helped to write the final version of the strategy. We aim to start using the new strategy in April 2016.
