With Christmas just around the corner, Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning Group are reminding local people to order any repeat prescriptions they need in good time before the festive period.
Local GP Dr Sarah Hay said: “Many GP surgeries and pharmacies will be closed over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays so it is important to plan ahead if you have been prescribed any medication and make sure you have enough before the holiday period.
“Ordering any essential medicines in advance of the Christmas break means you have one less thing to think about and you can help the NHS by ordering your repeat prescriptions as early as possible.
“If you do need help over the holiday period when your GP surgery or pharmacy is closed, call NHS 111 or visit www.nhs.uk who can direct you to a local service that is open.”
Harrogate and Rural District CCG is supporting the NHS Stay Well This Winter campaign. The campaign can help you and your family prepare for winter. Visit http://www.nhs.org.uk/staywell for more information.
