Every year NHS England gives each CCG a headline assessment against the indicators in the CCG improvement and assessment framework (IAF). The IAF aligns key objectives and priorities as part our aim to deliver the NHS Five Year Forward View.
Our end of year assessment from NHS England for 2017/18 is ‘requires improvement’. This is the same as last year.
NHS England’s assessment can be read in full on MyNHS. The assessment identifies a number of strengths, including responding to a challenging financial context, and strong areas of progress, as well as areas where focus is needs.
We are already working with purpose and ambition to achieve meaningful change at pace for the benefit of local people, and address areas identified in the assessment. This includes:
- Working differently with our partners as we collectively strive to fulfil our shared objective of better health and care outcomes for people across Harrogate District.
- Implementing our stretching but achievable financial recovery plan for 2018/19 which was been agreed and endorsed by NHSE.
- Delivering the action plan implemented by our Governing Body in response to the independent capacity and capability review conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in early 2018.
We will be continuing to work closely with NHS England and all our partners in the year ahead to help ensure the changes are in place to enable us to ensure financial and clinical sustainability in the medium and long term, as well as continued delivery of some of the highest rated healthcare in the England to the people of Harrogate District.
